Trent

For the past few months we have noticed that Trent hasn't been speaking as well as some of his peers and just as with walking Brian and I thought that he'd eventually come around and catch up. After many doctor's visits, we've determined a few things: Trent has a hearing problem that should be able to be corrected by tubes (We'll find out more on the 16th), He is developmentally behind by about a year, and definitely needs some speech therapy. So tomorrow begins our adventure into helping him learn to speak. He is going to start speech therapy twice a week and I really like his therapist. She's willing to give me tips and pointers to do at home and things I can share with our family and friends so that we're all helping him learn how to speak. He could need some occupational therapy as well and we'll explore that option when we get to it but for right now we are just doing one thing at at time and taking each day as it comes.
